Install physical bird-proofing mesh screens (PANEL GUARD stainless steel mesh ) specifically designed to prevent birds from accessing the space beneath the panels. Ensure these barriers are securely attached and don’t interfere with the panels’ functionality.
Step 1 Preparation work:
Use Proper Safety Equipment: When working around solar panels, ensure you wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves and safety glasses.
Preparing the necessary tools beforehand can streamline the installation process.
Scissors: Cut the mesh to the required size and shape for proper fitting around the solar panel frames.
Pliers: Useful for handling and bending wires, adjusting clips, or manipulating the mesh for a secure fit.
Step 2
Clean the Area: Before installing the mesh, ensure the area around the solar panels is clean. Remove any debris, nesting materials, or droppings. (Water-cleaning solar panels require turning off the Inverter: Locate the inverter or power disconnect switch associated with your solar panel system. Typically, there will be a main switch or breaker that you can use to shut off the power to the panels. Follow the instructions provided by your solar panel system manufacturer for the proper shutdown procedure)
Install the mesh: Carefully unroll the bird-proof mesh along the aluminium frame of the solar panel. Start from one end and work your way around the perimeter of the panel.
Attach Clips or Fasteners: The mesh kit comes with clips or fasteners designed to secure the mesh to the panels. Place these clips along the edges of the solar panels where you intend to attach the mesh.
Secure the Mesh: Make sure the mesh is taut and securely fastened to prevent birds from accessing the space underneath.
Double-Check and Secure: Once the mesh is in place, double-check that it’s properly secured and there are no gaps where birds could enter
